Wildlife Waystation Health Center

The Wildlife Waystation’s Health Center provides 24-hour a day care to more than 400 animal residents. With a full time veterinary staff, the Center ensures that the care of each animal is based on the individual animal’s requirements.

The Center is equipped with surgical facilities, ultrasound and radiology. They are equipped to quarantine animals, provide emergency and palliative care. Treatment for infections, diseases, including cancer and geriatric care, are all part of providing exceptional care for the animals. When specialized veterinary care is required, the Waystation works with a group of specialists in the Los Angeles area and transports the animals to their facilities.

A life-changing example of this is the reconstructive surgery performed on the paws of many big cats who had been inhumanely declawed, which was both painful and crippling. One of our former vets, along with outside specialists, developed this procedure which has allowed our big cats to lead pain free lives.
