The Wildlife Animal Hospital

The Wildlife Waystation’s hospital facility is yet another wonderful service provided to wildlife free of charge. The hospital care is available 24 hours a day, with two full-time veterinarians, two veterinarian technicians, and a variety of other assisting personnel. A team of specialists in fields ranging from dentistry to cancer are available to the Waystation on an on-call basis.

The hospital is equipped with surgical facilities and hospitalization ‘wards,’ through which more than 5,000-plus animals can be accommodated for on an annual basis. Often times people will bring in sick or injured animals that were found at various sites and locations. The hospital cases vary as greatly as the animal kingdom itself: the Waystation has seen everything from a tiger requiring laser surgery for a particular type of cancer to a raven needing a prosthesis.
